For more than seven years, Felipe has been part of the Guzman Y Gomez team, adding a bit of Mexican spice to the Buranda Village community.

Out in the restaurant, Felipe enjoys the opportunity to chat with customers.  He is proud of his Mexican heritage, and he loves to share his passion for Mexican food and culture with the Buranda Village community. 

Felipe is always ready to answer questions about the menu, explaining the different dishes and making suggestions.  Felipe started at Guzman Y Gomez as the kitchen team manager, and he is now the restaurant manager, so he knows first-hand how each dish is made. 

Excellent teamwork is the secret ingredient that makes Felipe love coming to work.  He is proud of how the team has developed and how well everyone works together.  From the food preparation to customer service, Felipe observes “When they see something needs to be done, they help.  They don’t need to ask.  That’s teamwork. The teamwork makes me very proud.”

Guzman Y Gomez is loved by regulars, who keep coming back for their favourite meals.  Felipe has one customer who has been coming every day for three years, and Felipe loves to stop and have a chat each time he sees him.

For first time visitors to Guzman Y Gomez, Felipe recommends the nacho fries, with a little bit of cheese and guacamole.  Felipe loves a bit of spice, so he likes to add pickled jalapeño.  What would Felipe say to someone who hasn’t been to Guzman Y Gomez yet?  It’s simple – his advice is “Mexican food is the best!”
